New HOPE's mission is to provide services that support, empower, and increas victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
New HOPE of McDowell, formerly Family Services of McDowell County, Inc., has been providing services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in the community since October 24, 1983. As a 100%
grant-funded organization, we rely heavily on community support to ensure services are always available free of cost to those in need. All contributions, donation or monetary, are tax deductible and
greatly appreciated.
Healing, outreach, prevention, and empowerment. These words represent what is most important to our agency. By providing an environment that allows survivors to heal, programs that expand community knowledge, presentations and training to discuss prevention strategies, and services that promote empowerment of survivors, we feel we are
fulfilling our mission.
Every year, more than 12 million women and men are victims of rape, physical violence, or stalking by an intimate partner in the United States. We want to be there to help. New HOPE has trained advocates ready to answer your call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Let us help you figure out your next steps. Everyone deserves a safe and healthy life
free from abuse.
